There are some scenarios, where NSFW AI integrated with a gaming platform like the avatars or interactions, that also require processing in real-time. As GameTech discovered in 2023 survey, which found that while using NSFW AI is often seamless and integrated into the mechanics of the game being played (40% of respondents) this integration sometimes requires more resources, as evident from 60% of devs interviewed who reported needing a separate server to process so much power or else risk lag/crashing when operating in real-time.
In general NSFW AI can operate in real time, but whether that is effective and how quickly it operates depends on the application, the sophistication of the AI model itself and available compute resources. More advanced AI will also provide improved and quicker results for real-time filtering and moderation.
